WHAT ARE CATEGORIES?
Categories can be added to an Ideation Mission to 'label' ideas with a predefined set of categories provided by the Mission Manager. Labelling Ideas gives a more structured overview for both the agents and the Mission Managers. Example: Set categories to start a SWOT session in brainstorm round one. In round two you can choose to set categories for Start, Keep, Stop etc
HOW TO SET UP CATEGORIES?
In the Ideation Mission Builder, categories can be switched on/off in brainstorm rounds (round independent) by the mission manager. This means that one brainstorm round can consist of categorised ideas, whereas another rounds in the same ideation mission doesn't (if categories is switched off). The Mission Manager can enable the use of categories per brainstorm round, by clicking on the desired brainstorm round in the Ideation Mission Builder and set the "Categories Switch" to the "ON" position.
The switch can be enabled or disabled mid-round, but remember that a newly created idea must contain a category when the switch is on the "ON" position: the category can't be left empty when creating a new idea.
WHERE ARE CATEGORISED IDEAS LOCATED?
Categorised ideas are displayed in the Idea Board of the Ideation Mission, as well as in the review round. The category itself is displayed next to the 'tag' icon in an idea card as displayed in the picture below.
For Mission Managers, categories are also displayed in the ideation "mission statistics" under VIEW IDEAS and the generated (Excel) reports.
