Each lane can be configured using six tabs. Each tab contains specific elements that define the behavior and experience of that lane. Here's an overview of each configuration tab and its components:
Tab 1. General
In this tab, you define the core settings of a lane:
Title: The name of the lane that will be displayed in the funnel.
Owner: The person responsible for the content and follow-up of the ideas in this lane.
Type: Choose between Default (where ideas start), Decision (used for selection moments), or Archive (used to store closed ideas).
Color: Assign a color to the lane to improve the visual structure of the Kanban board.
Show in Graph: Choose whether the ideas in this lane are included in the graph and bubble views.
Tab 2. Details
This tab is used to provide additional guidance and internal context. This information is visible when users in the funnel hover over the Funnel lane header.
Description: A short explanation of what this lane is used for (visible only to admins).
Assign a link to a file you can use for a checklist of more information to describe the expected work in the lane.
Tab 3. Automation
This tab allows you to pre-define certain idea values when an idea enters the lane:
Set Idea Owner: Automatically set or update the idea owner when entering this lane.
Set Deadline: Assign a deadline to the idea based on a fixed date or a number of days.
Set Status: Automatically assign a specific status to ideas in this lane (e.g., "Under Review").
Tab 4. Tasks
This tab allows you to define tasks that should be created when an idea enters this lane:
Automatic Tasks: Add one or more default tasks to ensure follow-up actions are not forgotten.

Tab 5. Communication
This tab controls notifications related to this lane:
Send Email Notification: Automatically send an email to the idea owner or other involved users. This is linked to the Dynamic Mail templates in the application.

Tab 6. Celebration
This tab allows you to celebrate successes:
Enable Celebration: Enable a visual celebration effect (such as confetti, fireworks, stars, etc.).
InnovationLands Example
In InnovationLand’s "New Attractions Funnel," the lanes are configured as follows:
Submitted
General: Type set to Default, owned by the Innovation Manager, blue color, included in graph.
Details: Encouraging message for users to be creative.
Automation: Sets idea owner to innovation manager and status to "Submitted".
Tasks: A task is added to check if the idea submission is complete.
Communication: Sends a thank-you email to the idea owner.
Celebration: Not used.
Under Review
General: Owned by the Review Committee, yellow color.
Details: Message that reviewers should enrich and score the idea.
Automation: Updates status to "In Review".
Tasks: Review tasks are added automatically.
Communication: Sends a reminder to reviewers.
Celebration: Not used.
Selected for Testing
General: Type set to Decision, orange color.
Details: Explains that the idea is being tested for feasibility.
Automation: Sets deadline to 14 days from entry and updates status to "Testing".
Tasks: Feasibility and cost analysis tasks are created.
Communication: Notifies the owner that their idea is selected.
Celebration: Custom message: "Your idea made it to testing!"
Approved
General: Type Decision, green color.
Details: Describes the next implementation phase.
Automation: Updates status to "Approved".
Tasks: Assigns planning and budgeting tasks.
Communication: Sends a final approval email.
Celebration: Enabled with message: "Congratulations! Your idea is approved."
Archived
General: Type Archive, grey color, excluded from graph.
Details: Explains why ideas are archived and that they are not removed.
Other tabs: Not configured.
This setup ensures every idea is handled consistently with automated follow-up, clear expectations, and the right feedback at every step.
